It tolerates most any type of soil, needs no fertilizer, is disease tolerant and can thrive in crowded beds. These plants grow up to 4′ (120 cm), blooming between May and November. Culture: Can be started indoors and transplanted to full sun in well drained, humusy soil or direct sow after soil warms. Cosmos withstand drying winds, but they flop without sufficient sun and may need staking. Cutting flowers encourages new blooms. Self sows in good conditions. Great for cut flowers.
