Late, medium-large globe, red-purple skin, white flesh tinged with pink, strong flavor, very productive, good keeper. Culture: Northern gardeners may want to start plants indoors 4 weeks before transplanting. Onions do best in a sunny open position, and in a well drained, well limed, sandy soil. Avoid organic fertilizers (manure) and rotate position within garden from year to year. Space 3″ (7.5 cm) apart for full size onions. Harvest: 100-110 days. Nutrition: Good source of calcium and phosphorus, also contains fiber and potassium.
