Early 60 days. Dark green pods contain 6-9 large sieve size peas. Vigorous 15″-20″ (38-50 cm) plants produce 4″-5″ (10-12 cm) pods. Fine flavor and quality, tolerant wilt. Leading large podded home garden pea. Culture: A cool season crop; peas grow best in rich, light moisture retentive soil, will not thrive in water logged or very dry soil. Sow seeds early spring and autumn 2″ (5 cm) apart, 1″ (2.5 cm) deep in rows 2½” (76 cm) apart. Beginning March 30th successive plantings can be made every two weeks until May 1st. Harvest: Start checking for maturity soon after pods begin to swell – shelling pea. Nutrition: Good source of vitamins A and C, and some B, minerals and fiber.
