Hot peppers are perhaps the most used international vegetable. Their intense flavor adds zest to sauces, salads, soups, stews, dips and dried seasonings. They can be pickled or threaded for string and dried when ripe for a colorful display, ornamental. Peppers are yellow turning red. Culture: Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Grow in full sun and keep soil temperature in the mid 70’s. Transplant to garden after soil has warmed. Harvest: Carefully cut fruit from plant when full size, but before they have begun to soften. Nutrition: Excellent source of vitamins A and C.
