One of the most popular earlier varieties of medium size and maturing in 54 days. The root, a flattened globe with small tap root, is of good flavor and texture. Sow seeds every two weeks beginning in August for a continuous supply. Beets prefer cool weather and are at their tender best when grown quickly with plenty of moisture. Soil should be loamy & high in organic matter. Good source of vitamin B, calcium, and iron. Late summer planting will produce a better crop for winter storage.
