Georgia Southern is a very old standard variety that is still very popular in the South, first released in 1879. The name “collard” comes from the word “colewort” (the wild cabbage plant). Leaves are tasty, tender, mild and juicy. Fall frosts make them sweeter; and they may overwinter, as they can survive temperatures down to 20°F. Georgia Southern Collards are a deep blue/green color and look really stand out in your garden. 50–80 days.
