This tantalizing pepper has a semi-spicy and sweet apple flavor. Poblanos occasionally and unpredictably can have significant heat. Different peppers from the same plant vary substantially in heat intensity. The ripened red poblanos are significantly hotter and more flavorful than the less ripe green poblano. This variety is a very versatile 4″–6″ pepper. Heirloom-open-pollinated. Culture: Start indoors a month before last frost date and transplant to fertile well tilled soil 18″–24″ (45–60 cm) apart. Harvest: Red when ripe. Uses: Dry & grind for Cayenne Pepper, tabasco sauce, spice up favorite recipe.
