Violet-blue blossoms on tall slim wands bloom late summer and fall. Brings essential color to the garden near the end of the season. Half hardy perennial, grows as an annual in the North. Easy to grow plants reach heights of 2½’ (75 cm.). Exhibits good heat tolerance. Culture: Seed can be sown indoors 8 weeks before planting time in good light and 70° temperature. Plant seed on top of well soaked growing medium and cover with plastic to keep moist. Reduce temperature after germination to 60° (16° C) is best; or sow outdoors in very fertile well drained soil in full sun. Uses: Essential fall color in beds and tall borders. Long lasting flowers are excellent in cut flower arrangements and as dried flowers.
