The sweet, meaty flesh is yellow orange. Excellent baked, steamed or microwaved. Direct sow seed at about the frost free date into rich, fertile soil. In the south sow fall and spring. Usually sown in groups and thinned to the strongest plants per group. Water regularly and fertilize when lateral runners begin to spread. Shortly before fall frost cut from plant, leaving a portion of stem attached.
