This paste tomato is reputed to have originated in the 1870’s with the oldest Amish community in Wisconsin, Medford. Although its origins are in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which is the heart of the Amish Country. The tomatoes are teardrop or acorn-shaped with brilliant red-orange color. Considered one of the best varieties for sauces and canning.
