This fancy little melon was bred by Elwyn Meader and Albert Yeager at University of NH by originally crossing ‘Pumpkin Rind’ and ‘New Hampshire Midget’. They introduced Golden Midget in 1959. This gorgeous, 2-pound melon that’s ready to harvest in just 70 days, has a golden rind and pink flesh when ripe. Golden Midget has a refreshingly sweet red flavor.
