An exceedingly popular table vegetable that is unmatched for vitamin content and sweet flavor. Imperator grows 9″–12″ (22.5–30 cm) long, 1.5″ (3.75 cm) in diameter. Rich, orange-red roots, tapers to pointed tip, indistinct core. Strong 16″–20″ (40–50 cm) tops. Culture: Sow fall and spring in the south, sow ¼” (6 mm) deep and cover with light soil.
