Blooms from seed in 8 to 10 weeks. The foliage is light and finely cut, rivaling the fern for decorative purposes. Plant height 4′-5′ / 120-150 cm. Beautiful daisy-like flowers of pure white, pink and crimson, vigorously bloom late summer until severe frost. Culture: Can be started indoors and transplanted to full sun in well drained, humusy soil or direct sow after soil has warmed. Cosmos withstands drying winds, but they flop without sufficient sun and may need staking. Cutting flowers encourages new blooms. Self sows in good conditions.
