1939 AAS Winner. Straight, deep green, spineless, ribbed pods grow 7″-8″ (17.5-20 cm) long, 1½” (3.75 cm) wide. Prolific and of fine quality. Culture: Sow indoors in late winter, plant outdoors after danger of frost has passed and night temperatures remain warm. Water plentifully. Harvesting: Best when pods are 4″-5″ (10-12.5 cm) long. Nutrition: One serving gives half MDA vitamin C; also high in vitamin A. Uses: Pods are cut up into stews, soups, catsup and other relishes to add flavor.
