Large, smooth leaf type on semi-upright 16″-22″ (20-25 cm) tall spreading plant. Oval serrated dark-green leaves 8″-10″ (20-25 cm) long with tender cream-colored midribs. Grows vigorously, popular in the South. Culture: Direct sow seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring and again every 3 weeks until late spring for successive plantings. Sow again in late summer for fall crop. Water regularly and fertilize when 3″ (7.5 cm) tall. Harvest: Young leaves for salads, full size leaves for greens. Nutrition: Rich source of vitamins A & C and some minerals.
