This All American Award Winner is an early maturing edible pod snap pea. Culture: Peas do best in rich, light, but moisture retentive soil. Will not thrive in waterlogged or very dry soil. Dislikes very hot weather. Early spring and/or early autumn planting in South are most suitable. Seed should be sown in rows 3′ (90 cm) apart. Seeds should be 2″ (5 cm) apart, and 2″ (5 cm) deep. Vines need no support. Harvest: Continued picking of young pods encourages new pod set. Sweet pods freeze well. Nutrition: Good source of vitamin C and iron, protein and fiber.
