Spearmint is one of the best known mints. Mint’s are creeping plants that hybridize easily, producing infinite variations. They have erect, square, branching stems, aromatic foliage, and flowers in leaf axils. Uses: Spearmint flavor sauces, vinegar, vegetables, desserts and candies, and julep, and are crystallized. Cool tasting leaves may be added to salads, meats and potato dishes. Habitat: Sunny, rich soils, moisture.
