Prior to sowing, soak seeds overnight to facilitate germination. Provide plenty of water. Mulch roots to keep them cool. They climb by tendrils and need to be supported. A wire fence works well. They do best in cool weather and in mild climates, sow in late summer or fall. If aphids appear, spray plants with insecticidal soap every 3-5 days. Produces long stemmed cut flowers.
