1939 AAS Winner. Straight, deep green, spineless, ribbed pods grow 7″ (17.5 cm) to 8″ (20 cm) long, 1½” (3.75 cm) wide. Prolific and of fine quality. Culture: Sow indoors in late winter, plant outdoors in May. Water plentifully. Harvesting: Best when pods are 4″ (10 cm) to 5″ (12.5 cm) long. Preserving: Okra can be frozen. Nutrition: One serving gives MDA, vitamin C; also high in vitamin A. Uses: Pods are cut up into stews, soups, catsup and other relishes to add flavor.
